Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By clicking Accept on our in-game Server Terms prompt (shown by the MBA (Basketball) plugin on your first login, and again whenever these Terms change), or by continuing to play after accepting, you ("you", "Player") agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

Before you accept: our Proctor security tools collect no IP or connection information about your account. After you accept: the collection and enforcement described below apply. You must also comply with the Minecraft EULA and Usage Guidelines. If you decline, you are disconnected and may not play.

2. Eligibility

• You must own a valid licensed Minecraft: Java Edition account.
• You must be old enough to agree to these Terms in your country. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), a parent or guardian must review and agree on your behalf.
• We may restrict access by region or age where required by law.

3. Server Rules

You agree to follow all league rules. In particular:

• No cheating, hacking, or unauthorized clients/modifications.
• No harassment, hate speech, or griefing.
• No ban evasion, including alternate accounts used to circumvent a ban.
• No VPN, proxy, Tor, or similar anonymizing connection unless we explicitly allow it in writing (we generally do not).
• No account sharing or "ringing" (playing on someone else's account to gain an unfair advantage), especially in competitive or league play.
• Follow staff instructions during investigations and matches.

Violations may result in warnings, kicks, temporary or permanent bans, or other action at our discretion.

4. Security and Identity Enforcement

To protect the league and its players, we use automated and manual tools — including the Proctor plugin — to detect abuse. You acknowledge and agree that:

What we check

• VPN / proxy / Tor / datacenter connections (via third-party lookup services and local caching).
• Alternate accounts linked to banned players (IP correlation against our records and the server ban list).
• Account sharing ("ringers") — a different person playing on a rostered account, including during league matches.

What may happen

• Staff receive alerts when suspicious activity is detected.
• Depending on configuration, we may deny your login (disconnect you before you join) for high-confidence VPN or alt detections.
• Ringer alerts are typically review-only; staff decide any disciplinary action.
• We may whitelist specific IPs or accounts at our discretion.
• Shared connections (schools, mobile carriers, household networks) may be treated differently from single-user evasion; staff make the final call.

You agree not to interfere with these security systems or attempt to evade enforcement, and to disable VPN/proxy software before joining unless we have approved an exception. What data is collected and shared is described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Accounts and Bans

• Your Minecraft account (UUID and username) is your identity on the server.
• Bans apply to the account and may extend to linked alternate accounts or IPs where we reasonably believe the same person is evading.
• To appeal a ban, contact us through our Discord server. We are not obliged to reverse decisions.
• We may modify or reset server-side progress without liability, except where prohibited by law.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post (chat, profile information, builds, skins), but grant MBA a limited license to display, reproduce, and moderate that content to operate and promote the league. Such content may be logged for enforcement. Do not upload illegal content or content that infringes others' rights.

7. Disclaimer

The server is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that security tools will detect every violation or never flag an innocent player.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MBA and its staff are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data or progress, arising from your use of the server — including wrongful kicks, bans, or security alerts.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including rule violations. Sections that by nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The effective date and version above will change, and material updates require you to accept again in-game before you can continue to play.
